2. How much proof was needed for an arrest warrant?
3. Choose the accused woman whose story you found most interesting and describe (briefly!) what happened to
her and why.
4. Read about the events and try to figure out who you believe is responsible for the witch trials and why they believed it was the right thing to do.
5. Was there anything that interested you about the trial process? Is it similar or different from modern trials?

6. Who was Giles Corey? What did he do/what happened to him?
7. Why did the trials begin and what helped bring them to an end?
8. We will soon read The Crucible by Arthur Miller. What is the play about? Is it only about that or does it
parallel a different, more modern event?
